IMPORTANT DEAN QUARRY UPDATE 28.9.2016

Cornwall Council have decided NOT to serve a temporary stop notice at Dean Quarry preventing Shire Oak Quarries Limited from blasting, the effects of which will have significant effect on the environment.

Cornwall Council agreed two days ago to Shire Oak blasting but failed to inform CADS legal team. CADS will be issuing a press release by noon tomorrow (29.9.2016) detailing the legal direction the action group will be taking against Cornwall Council and Shire Oak Quarries Limited.

In the meantime, CADS can confirm that a single blast (creating 10,000 tonnes of rock) will take place at Dean Quarry either tomorrow, Thursday 28th or on Friday 29th September 2016.

Only the police have the right to ask you to leave a public footpath.

CADS INSISTS THAT NOBODY TRESPASSES INTO DEAN QUARRY AT ANYTIME, BUT PARTICULARLY AS BLASTING IS SCHEDULED IN THE NEXT TWO DAYS. CADS CANNOT CONDONE THE VANDALISM THAT HAS TAKEN PLACE AT DEAN QUARRY. PLEASE STAY SAFE EVERYONE.
