Thank you to all our supporters for your help during this past year. It is almost four years since we first started campaigning and our commitment to protect The Manacles MCZ and our Cornish AONB remains unwavered. During the summer, the government finally rejected the costly Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon project saying it would not back the plans because the electricity it would generate is too expensive. Whilst this is potentially good news for the future of Dean Quarry, we cannot underestimate that a secondary market will not be sought by Shire Oak Quarries and its owner Mark Shorrock. We continue to closely monitor the fall-out from this government decision and will continue to fight any major industrialisation plans put forward for Dean Quarry in the future. In the meantime, wishing everyone a peaceful Christmas and Happy New Year. From all of us at Cornwall Against Dean Superquarry(CADS).Silke RoskillyChair
